Calculator and feed

Calculator inputs are processed in your browser. We do not send their values to Google Analytics. The news feed retrieves public source information on our server; following a source link takes you to that publisher's website.

Reader accounts and learning progress

Every article is public. Optional sign-in offers ChatGPT through our hosting provider and Google, Microsoft or email/password through Firebase when enabled. Firebase processes email credentials, verification and recovery. Our server does not receive or store your password. Firebase authentication uses essential browser storage. When signed in, we store a site-specific account identifier, article addresses, reading position, completion status, saved-guide status, and update times to let you resume across devices. Only that account can access its progress. Device-only progress remains separate. You can change completion and saved markers and export your history in My learning. Contact us to request deletion of account progress. Progress is not sent to Google Analytics.

Watchlists and portfolio lab

Watchlists, thresholds, and manually entered portfolio values stay in this browser. They are not synced to your account or sent to our server, Google Analytics, or an AI provider. Export a device backup before clearing browser storage. Daily currency reference rates are retrieved from the ECB by our server. Alerts are checked while the lab page is open; there are no background email or push alerts.

Company research and saved scenarios

Company searches send a ticker or SEC identifier to our server to retrieve public filings. Annual and quarterly summaries are refreshed from SEC filings, cached for up to one hour, and identify their source and reporting periods. Company watchlists and research notes stay on your device. Manual worksheets and DCF calculations run in your browser. Saved DCF scenarios stay on this device and can be exported. These inputs are not sent to analytics.

AI study prompts

The site prepares prompts locally. It does not call a paid AI API. Study prompts contain public article context. The optional diversification prompt contains rounded percentages and exposure labels, excluding holding names, amounts, and account details. Review the visible prompt before copying it into an external AI service. That service applies its own terms, limits, and privacy settings.

Optional analytics

Google Analytics is available only after you select Allow analytics. It helps measure page views, active reading milestones, article completion, and clicks on save, share, and related-article controls. We also measure reading depth and active reading time, navigation between guides, selected editorial lines and news sources, search-result availability, and use of tools. Topic and content format are included; calculator values, search text, private reading lists, and personal identifiers are not sent. Test visits are used to verify tracking and are not evidence of audience growth. Advertising personalization and Google signals are disabled in our tag configuration. You can change your preference with Cookie settings in the footer. A necessary local preference records your choice.

Advertising

Advertising is not currently active. We will update this notice and provide applicable consent choices before advertising services are enabled.

Hosting

The hosting provider may process technical request information for delivery, security, and access control. Private access, when enabled, uses the hosting provider's authentication. External publishers and Google describe their own practices in their privacy policies.

Data we do not request

This site does not ask for bank logins, brokerage credentials, account balances, or payment details. There is currently no paid subscription or newsletter sign-up.
